De Agaveplant - Paulies Ginger

We use organic agave in two of our four Paulies Flavors. Here you can see a great video, which we received from our agave supplier from Mexico. The photo added to this article is also of the employees in Mexico, who supply our agave. Great to realize that our agave comes from these agave fields.

Process: When the plant is 7 to 10 years old, the leaves are cut off until the core of the plant remains. A kind of gigantic pineapple remains, which contains the agave nectar, a sweet substance full of vitamins and minerals.

It is an intensive labor process, agave is a natural sweetener and it is 30% sweeter than normal sugar, so you need much less of it.

The high fructose content of agave syrup ensures a low glycemic index, lower than regular table sugar and even lower than honey. The syrup is released slowly so that there is no spike in your blood sugar level.
