Alcoholvrij? Tips van Yvonne - Paulies Ginger

DRY JANUARY ✨

A new year is almost here 🤩
A blank page, full of possibilities, growth, and new adventures.
I wish you a year full of 🍀 happiness, ❤️ love, and 🌱 health.

While you can choose to break old patterns at any time, January feels like a natural starting point for many. Dry January is one such invitation: a month without alcohol, to consciously reflect on your body, your energy, and your habits.

Are you joining?

An alcohol-free month can help you start the year clearly, powerfully, and with more peace — both physically and mentally. To support you in this, I'd like to share some tips.
Some I still use daily, even after 12 years sober/clean 🤩. They have become part of my life — and I wish the same for you.

Tips for a successful Dry January

Share your decision
Tell those around you that you're not drinking (for now). This prevents awkward moments and strengthens your resolve if someone offers you a drink. Think beforehand about what you'll say — it brings peace of mind.

Seek connection
A buddy can help immensely. Someone who joins you, motivates you, and understands what you're going through. No buddy? Online communities can also provide support.

Be curious about yourself
Reflect on your alcohol consumption. When do you drink? Why? What does it bring you — and what might it no longer bring?

A slip-up? Be gentle
A slip doesn't mean failure. See it as a learning moment. What happened? What did you need at that moment?

Reward yourself
Celebrate your steps, no matter how small. Think of a long walk in nature, a yoga class, sauna, massage, an inspiring book, or simply time for yourself.

Plan enjoyable moments
Make sure your calendar is filled with fun, alcohol-free outings: bowling, miniature golf, cinema, high tea, a museum, or a spontaneous day trip.

Tips in short 🌿

  • Put on music and dance around the living room

  • Sing along to your favorite songs

  • Do yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises

  • Go for a walk in nature

  • Listen to inspiring podcasts

  • Read a good book

  • Treat yourself to a sauna moment

  • Make a special alcohol-free drink and celebrate

  • Set your alarm an hour earlier and start your day with movement or stillness

Whether you participate for the entire month or just want to consciously experiment:
every step counts.

Lots of success 💛
and be kind to yourself.

Love,
Yvonne
